Where does BEACON get the data for its Consumption Graph weather overlays, and how often is that data refreshed?
The Weather Company provides the temperature range and precipitation information displayed as overlays in the Consumption Graph on the Monitor page is provided by The Weather channel. The data is collected from thousands of weather stations and updated in BEACON daily. In addition, BEACON automatically displays weather from the weather station closest to a given endpoint’s geo-coordinates. If individual service point longitude and latitude are not available the weather feed defaults to the weather station selected on the General Settings page.
When viewing multiple meters filtered, for example, by location city, zip/postal code, meter size, etc., the system detects the central geo-coordinates and chooses and displays data from the weather station nearest those coordinates.
