For utilities using Cobalt, availability in BEACON and BEACON Field is managed by admin users through settings on both the General Settings and Staff pages. First, Cobalt must be enabled in General Settings, and then it can be assigned to individual users on the Staff page.
On the General Setting page:
Use the Cobalt Settings section to enable/disable access to Cobalt and BEACON Field. For more information see Getting the Most Out of Cobalt.
The Cobalt for BEACON drop-down menu enables/disables access to Cobalt within BEACON.
The Cobalt for Field App drop-down menu enables/disables access to the iOS and Android BEACON Field app.
On the Roles page:
Find an existing role or create a new role, and check BEACON Field App in the Applications list to add access to the BEACON Field iOS and Android smartphone app.
To enable/disable specific capabilities, under the BEACON Field App > Tools and Actions tab, check/uncheck the boxes as needed.
On the Staff page:
Once enabled, admin users must grant access to Cobalt on an individual user basis via the Users>Staff page.
- Locate the user of interest by typing their username in the search box.
- Click the three dots.
- Select Enable Cobalt.

NOTE: Cobalt access must be enabled on the General Settings page for the Enable Cobalt option to be visible.
