How to Provision a Manually Read Meter

To provision a manually read meter, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Data Exchange File
    • Create a file in CSV format that includes at least the following column headers:
      • Account_ID
      • Location_ID
      • Service_Point_ID
      • Meter_ID
      • Meter_Size
      • Meter_Model
      • Register_Resolution
      • Register_Unit_Of_Measure
      • Meter_Install_Date
      • Service_Agreement_Start_Date
  2. Optional Headers for Additional Data
    • For meter swap situations, you can include the following optional headers:
      • Meter_Install_Start_Read: To record the starting read of the new meter.
      • Meter_Removal_End_Read: To record the final read of the previous meter.
    • For manual or mobile reading, you may include these additional headers if desired:
      • Read_Sequence
      • Alert_Code
      • High_Read_Limit
      • Low_Read_Limit
  3. If Installing an ORION CE Endpoint
    • Include the endpoint’s serial number in a column labeled Endpoint_SN.
    • Add a column labeled Endpoint_Type and enter Z.
    • Add a column labeled Endpoint_Install_Date and provide the date of installation.
  4. If Installing a Mobile-Read Endpoint (e.g., ORION ME)
    • Include the endpoint’s serial number in a column labeled Endpoint_SN.
    • Add a column labeled Endpoint_Type and enter N.
    • Add a column labeled Endpoint_Install_Date and provide the date of installation.

Ensure all required fields and optional headers are completed accurately, based on your needs. Once the file is ready, upload it to the appropriate data exchange platform to complete the provisioning process. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, contact your support team.
