User Counts on the Analytics, Engagement, and Monitor Pages

Q: Why do the counts of EyeOnWater users differ across the Analytics, Monitor, and Engagement pages?

A: The differences in user counts on the Analytics, Monitor, and Engagement pages are due to how each page tracks and defines users:

  1. Analytics page – The count on the Users section of this page represents unique users with EyeOnWater accounts. A user can have multiple accounts, but they are only counted once as a unique individual.
  2. Monitor page – The count shown on the EyeOnWater = YES filter represents meters with the EyeOnWater feature enabled. This means the page counts the total number of meters, and a single user could have multiple meters under their account.
  3. Engagement page – The count on the Engagement>EyeOnWater Users page tracks unique accounts with EyeOnWater enabled. Unlike the Analytics page, it doesn’t group multiple accounts under one user. Therefore, if a user has more than one account, each of those accounts is counted separately.

These variations in counting methods explain the discrepancies in user numbers across the different pages. Each page serves a distinct purpose, focusing on unique users, individual meters, or separate accounts.
